Next bar exams will still be held in September, to cover six subjects
The 2024 bar exams will be held on September 8, 11, and 15 and will continue to cover six subjects, Supreme Court Associate Justice and 2024 Bar Examinations chair Mario V. Lopez announced on Monday.

The six core subjects are Political and Public International Law (15%), Commercial and Taxation Laws (20%), Civil Law (20%), Labor Law and Social Legislations (10%), Criminal Law (10%), and Remedial Law, Legal and Judicial Ethics with Practical Exercises (25%).

“The 2024 Bar Examinations #MostValuableLaban will bridge the gap between the study and the practice of law, and will usher qualified examinees in their transition from law students to ‘practice ready’ and ‘potentially capable’ lawyers,” he said.

He also said the questions would test the examinees on their “practical skills and jurisprudential perspectives” and show their analytical and problem solving abilities, strong sense of ethics, professionalism, empathy for clients, and commitment to public service.
